St. Germain Gummies
FOOD AS MEDICINE:
If your Valentine’s Day plans involve popping some bubbles, you’re going to want to make these St. Germain Gummies! Inspired by a long time client and big time foodie, these are such a fun addition to a glass of champagne. They can also be used in savory applications, potentially to offset liver pate or even with chicken if wanting to get creative! St. Germain is an elderflower liqueur often added to cocktails like a French 75. It has a sweet and delicate floral flavor and can pair with white wine, gin, vodka and beyond for all of your mixology needs and is a great item to have on hand in your home liquor cabinet. You all know how much we love gelatin for its ability to support healthy bones and joints, hair, skin and nails and most importantly gut lining integrity. You can think of gelatin as a “facelift” for the GI tract that aids in fueling gut cell regeneration. For a non-alcoholic version, try subbing the St. Germain for your favorite kombucha!
INGREDIENTS:
1 cup St. Germain Elderflower Liqueur
3 Tbsp grassfed gelatin such as Further Food (use code ALIMILLERRD for savings!)
1 Tbsp lemon juice
DIRECTIONS:
Divide the St. Germain and pour 1/2 cup in a small saucepan over low heat. Add the remainder to a small bowl or measuring cup along with the 3 Tbsp gelatin. Whisk with a fork to bloom the gelatin, it is okay if the mixture gets quite thick at this stage. Continue to heat the remaining St. Germain until just simmering. Pour the heated liqueur into the portion mixed with gelatin and add the lemon juice. Whisk together until any lumps dissolve. Place in gelatin molds of your choice, we used these hearts and these gummy bears from amazon but you can also pour into a glass baking dish and cut into cubes! Place in the fridge to set at least 3 hours or overnight. Pop out and enjoy a few with your bubbles!
