CHOCOLATE BOOST SMOOTHIE RECIPE
FOOD AS MEDICINE:
Maca stimulates the pituitary gland which stimulates human growth hormone, oxytocin, and progesterone production. Progesterone aids in healthy implantation of the fertilized egg and provides support for healthy placental production to prevent miscarriage. Maca also aids in healthy libido which can make the fertility process a lot more fun and remove the forced mechanical role that can often dampen the process!
INGREDIENTS:
12oz filtered water
1/4 cup raw almonds, soaked for 8 hours and strained
1 tsp maca
½ cup crushed ice
2 dates
½ avocado (about ¼ cup)
2 Tbsp raw cacao
1 Tbsp flax seeds, ground
1 scoop grass-fed whey protein
DIRECTIONS:
Blend water with almonds, maca, and crushed ice for 30 seconds until smooth. Then add dates, avocado, cacao, and flax seeds. Once mixed, whip in grass-fed whey protein for about 5 seconds just to incorporate, but not froth!

There are no proven contraindications for using Maca during pregnancy or nursing. Still we recommend that pregnant and nursing women use extra care and take small dosages of Maca, and to be most conservative, use in the whole food (powder) form vs supplementation.
Love your smoothy recipes and so many of your recipes. Can you please add the fiber content to your foods? I am trying very hard to count fiber grams each day. Thank you
