Spicy Maca Chocolate Avocado Mousse
FOOD AS MEDICINE
Chocolate Avocado Mousse is a tried and true favorite and the best way (in our opinion) to use up slightly overripe avocados! This Spicy Maca version elevates Ali’s classic recipe with a sexy twist just in time for Valentine’s Day! Maca stimulates the pituitary gland in production of oxytocin and progesterone, not only supporting fertility but also providing a libido boost for both women and men! Cayenne aids in vasodilation or creating blood flow while cinnamon aids in blood sugar stability and both give this a feel of Mexican Hot Chocolate with a little spicy kick.
INGREDIENTS
3 ripe avocados, halved and pitted
4 Tbsp raw cacao powder
2 tsp gelatinized maca powder
2 scoops collagen peptides
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/8 tsp cayenne
1/2 tsp cinnamon
generous pinch sea salt
1/4 cup full fat coconut milk (from can, stabilizer free)
1-2 Tbsp robust maple syrup (taste to desired sweetness)
flaky sea salt + goji berries for serving (optional)
Note: Our favorite brands of all shelf stable ingredients in this recipe can be found in our Amazon Store!
DIRECTIONS
Place the avocados, cacao, maca, collagen, vanilla, cayenne, cinnamon and pinch sea salt in a food processor and blend, stopping to scrape down sides. With food processor running, slowly add the coconut milk one tablespoon at a time until desired creaminess is achieved. Add the maple syrup a small amount at a time, stopping to taste for desired sweetness. You may use more or less maple than recommended depending on your palate and can always reserve a portion that is less sweet prior to finishing with a little more maple for your partner! Top with flaky sea salt and goji berries if desired. Bonus points for taking this to the bedroom after dinner to dip with fresh strawberries!
